NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT ORDINANCE WHICH AMENDS THE SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES.
Notice is Hereby Given that the Borough Council of Catasauqua Borough of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, will consider for adoption at its public meeting on April 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. held at Borough Hall at 90 Bridge Street, Catasauqua 18032, an ordinance entitled and summarized as follows:
Ordinance No: 1461
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING WATER RATE INCREASE FOR PENNVEST LOAN PROVIDING FUNDING FOR NEW WATER METERS AND COMMITTING TO WATER RATE INCREASES REQUIRED TO ENSURE REPAYMENT OF SAID LOAN.
The proposed ordinance updates the water fees set forth in Resolution 3 of 2025 and creates a debt servicing fee of $10 per quarter as part of the water fees to secure and repay the Pennvest Loan for new water meters. The total rate increase including the debt servicing fee shall be 14.7% and the Borough commits to set future water rates as required to comply with the terms of this loan.
