NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Ordinance will be enacted at a meeting of the Borough Council of Jim Thorpe Borough, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, to be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 P.M., prevailing time, in the Memorial Hall, 115 East 10th Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. The Ordinance is entitled.. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE, CARBON COUNTY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CHAPTER OF THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE CODE. A summary of the contents of the Ordinance is as follows:
1. Section 26-5 shall be amended to provide that the Department Officers of the Fire Department will consist of a Fire Chief and three Deputy Fire Chiefs.
2. Section 26-6 shall be amended to provide that the Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chiefs must be full-time residents of the Borough or reside within a five-mile radius of the corporate limits of the Borough of Jim Thorpe.
The full text of the Ordinance in its entirety may be examined at the Jim Thorpe Borough Municipal Building located at 101 East Tenth Street, Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Monday through Friday during regular business hours. A copy of the full text of the proposed Ordinance has also been provided to The Times News at 594 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West, Lehighton, Pennsylvania, and the Carbon County Law Library located at the Carbon County Courthouse, Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania and may be examined there.

NOTICE is hereby given by the Board of Supervisors of Lynn Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania that they will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, September 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lynn Township Municipal Building located at 7911 Kings Highway, Lynnport, Pennsylvania. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a proposed modification to the Agricultural Security Area within Lynn Township.
The proposed modification would add the following parcel of land to the Lynn Township Agricultural Security Area: 4.66 acres more or less of land located at 8573 Kistler Valley Road, New Tripoli, Pennsylvania 18066, more particularly identified as PIN No.: 541864889705 1. The proposed addition is more fully described in maps contained in the Lynn Township Municipal Building which may be inspected by the public during normal business hours. The proposed modification received a favorable recommendation from both the Lynn Township Planning Commission and the Lynn Township Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee. Any interested citizenry may appear and comment at this public hearing.
