NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Ordinance will be enacted at a meeting of the Borough Council of Jim Thorpe Borough, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, to be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 P.M., prevailing time, in the Memorial Hall, 115 East 10th Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. The Ordinance is entitled. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE, CARBON COUNTY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING THE VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC ORDINANCE FOR THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE." A summary of the contents of the Ordinance is as follows: 1. Section 420-25 shall be amended to add the intersections of Oak Street and Fifth Street and the intersection of Fifth Street and Lehigh Street as stop intersections. 2. Section 420-30.3 shall be added which will provide that South Avenue between Pine Avenue and Spruce Avenue is established as a one-way street in an easterly direction from Pine Avenue towards Spruce Avenue. 3. A new Section 420-30.4 shall be added providing the Race Street is designated as a one-way street in an easterly direction from Broadway towards Susquehanna Street. 4. A new Section 420-30.5 shall be added designating Trap Alley as a one-way street from the intersection in a direction from Broadway towards Hill Road. 5. Section 420-28 shall be added establishing parking times on Broadway at 38 Broadway. The full text of the Ordinance in its entirety may be examined at the Jim Thorpe Borough Municipal Building located at 101 East Tenth Street, Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Monday through Friday during regular business hours. A copy of the full text of the proposed Ordinance has also been provided to The Times News at 594 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West, Lehighton, Pennsylvania, and the Carbon County Law Library located at the Carbon County Courthouse, Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania and may be examined there.
