NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Ordinance will be enacted at a meeting of the Borough Council of Jim Thorpe Borough, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, to be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 P.M., prevailing time, in the Memorial Hall, 115 East 10th Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. The Ordinance is entitled.. "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE, CARBON COUNTY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CHAPTER OF THE BOROUGH OF JIM THORPE CODE. A summary of the contents of the Ordinance is as follows: 1. Section 109-2 shall be amended to provide that Subordinate to the Chief of Police will be the following officers: Sergeant, Corporal, Detective and Patrol Officer. The full text of the Ordinance in its entirety may be examined at the Jim Thorpe Borough Municipal Building located at 101 East Tenth Street, Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Notice To Bidders 2025 Liquid Fuels Road Program Borough of Catasauqua The Borough of Catasauqua will utilize electronic bidding to receive sealed bids for the 2025 Liquid Fuels Road Program. Sealed bids must be submitted online through the PennBid electronic procurement program prior to 9/22/2025 at 11:00 AM EST, at which time they will be opened and read aloud at the Catasauqua Borough Hall, 90 Bridge Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. All documents and solicitation details are available at no cost through PennBid (https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com). This project is funded by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Municipal Liquid Fuels Program. All material must meet current PennDOT Specifications. Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Bid Security may be provided in the form of a certified check or a bid bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to transact such business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Upon award of a contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value. Upon completion of the contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a 2-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the final contract value. Bidders are required to comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, No. 442, where the project cost is $100,000 or above for locally funded highway and bridge projects. Only the Successful Bidder for a contract will be responsible for payment of a fee to PennBid and for bearing the cost thereof. The amount of the fee due to PennBid is either 1/3% (0.0033) of the initial contract award amount for fixed fee contracts or 1/6% (0.00166) of the expected contract value for term contracts and will be invoiced by PennBid to the successful bidder upon award of a contract by the Local Contracting Unit.
