The Board of Commissioners of South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, beginning at 7:00 PM, at the South Whitehall Township Municipal Building, which is located at 4444 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, Lehigh County, PA 18104, for the purpose of voting on whether or not to enact a proposed ordinance. The proposed new Ordinance, of which this Notice is a summary, includes the following:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 274 (SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL) IN THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH WHITEHALL AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADDITION OF PART 7, SEWER LATERAL INSPECTION PROGRAM, INCLUDING DEFINITIONS, CERTIFICATE OF LATERAL COMPLIANCE REQUIRED, PROHIBITIONS, CERTIFICATE OF LATERAL COMPLIANCE: RESIDENTIAL, CERTIFICATE OF LATERAL COMPLIANCE: MULTIFAMILY, COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL PROPERTIES, TESTING, APPLICATION AND PROCEDURE FOR INSPECTIONS, ADDITIONAL STANDARDS FOR CERTIFICATION, TIMING, TESTING FAILURE MITIGATION, BUILDING SEWER AND SEWER LATERAL COMPLIANCE; ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE, REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF BUILDING SEWER AND SEWER LATERAL UPON SALE OR TRANSFER, HARDSHIP DEFERRALS, EXTENSION OF TIME, VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES, AND TO PROVIDE FOR SEVERABILITY, FAILURE TO ENFORCE NOT A WAIVER, REPEALER AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
A copy of the proposed ordinance in full-text is available for public inspection at the South Whitehall Township Municipal Building located at 4444 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, PA 18104 during normal business hours where it may be examined without charge or obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof, or for inspection during normal business hours at the offices of this newspaper.
