PUBLIC NOTICE OF COMMENT PERIOD WALNUTPORT AUTHORITY MINOR SEWAGE FACILITIES PLAN UPDATE PRIVATE-TO-PUBLIC WASTEWATER DISPOSAL SYSTEM TRANSFER In accordance with requirements of the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act (Act 537), the Walnutport Authority, which is a municipal authority located and operating in Northampton County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is preparing to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) an Official Minor Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plan Update Private-to-Public Wastewater Disposal System Transfer (Plan Update). This notice has been published to allow the general public to review and comment on the proposed Plan Update. The Plan Update was developed and prepared in order for the Walnutport Authority to acquire and operate the existing sewer collection system serving the Walnutport Mobile Home Park (WMHP). There will be no increase in User Rates in the Walnutport Authority Service Area. Topics covered in the Plan Update include a description of the existing wastewater facilities, identification of alternatives, an institutional evaluation, implementation schedule, and a description of the proposed changes to the collection system. A thirty (30) day review and comment period has been established commencing on March 11, 2026 to allow the general public to review and comment on the proposed Plan Update. The general public may review the proposed Plan Update at the Lehigh Township Municipal Building located at 1069 Municipal Rd, Walnutport, PA 18088 during normal business hours (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday). The public may also review the Plan Update online at the Lehigh Township website (www.lehightownship.com). The general public may forward written comments to the attention of Alice Rehrig, Township Manager, 1069 Municipal Rd, Walnutport, PA 18088 or submit comments via an email sent to arehrig@lehightownship.com. All written comments must be received prior to the end of the thirty (30) day public comment period.
