RUSH TOWNSHIP NOTICE Be notified that the Rush Township Board of Supervisors is considering the adoption of two ordinances. One ordinance would require cost reimbursement to certain emergency responders for each false alarm responded to after the 2nd false alarm responded to in any consecutive 12-month period, provide means of appealing the classification of an alarm as a false alarm, provide for enforcement and penalties, and contain repealer, severability and effective date provisions. One ordinance would repeal and replace Ordinance No. 210 and regulate the nomination, approval and removal of special fire police, requiring candidates to be 18 years of age, have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license, provide child abuse clearances and criminal background checks, meet certain training requirements, and confirm the right in the Board of Supervisors to remove persons as special fire police officers at any time for any reason, and contain repealer, severability and effective date provisions. Copies of the proposed ordinances can be inspected at the Rush Township Municipal Building at 104 Mahanoy Avenue, Tamaqua, PA 18252, during normal working hours. The Board of Supervisors may vote on the proposed ordinances at a public meeting at the Municipal Building scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Mar 11
