NOTICE TO BIDDERS SEALED PROPOSALS will be accepted by the Borough Council of Jim Thorpe until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Jim Thorpe Municipal Building, 115 East Tenth Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 for the following: "2026 Street Program" for work on various streets in the Borough of Jim Thorpe, Carbon County 8,635 SY of 2" Depth Full Width Milling 250 SY of 5" Milling including 3" Depth of 25.0mm Base Course 1,070 Tons +/- of 9.5mm Wearing Course, 2" Depth 288 Tons +/- of 9.5mm Leveling Course, 90 lb/sy 577 Tons +/- of 9.5mm Wearing Course, 1 ½" Depth All materials must meet PENNDOT Pub. 408 Specifications and Standards, bidders need to be PENNDOT prequalified. Proposals must be on forms provided by the Borough. Proposal forms, specifications and bid information can be obtained at the Jim Thorpe Borough Municipal Building at the above address or by calling the Borough Manager at 570-325-3025, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All Bids shall be clearly marked "2026 Street Program". A Pre-Bid meeting for the "2026 Bituminous Paving" project will be held on Monday March 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Borough Office Conference Room at 115 East Tenth Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. All interested bidders should attend. This is not a mandatory meeting however this is the only field view to be conducted by the Municipality and only questions presented at this meeting will be addressed prior to award unless the Municipality feels additional items or explanations need to be presented. After the pre-bid meeting these will be in the form of a written notice to all bidders. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid made payable to Jim Thorpe Borough. All bids shall be valid for 60 days. The successful bidder for the "2026 Street Program" project will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price within 20 days of the award of the contract. All bids will be opened and read publicly at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at the Borough Office and pending review, awarded at the Thursday, April 9, 2026 regularly scheduled Council Meeting at approximately 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows. The Borough Council of Jim Thorpe reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or portions thereof, and to delete projects and or portions of the project depending on budgetary constraints and also to waive any technicalities deemed to be in the best interested of the Borough.
