NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Nesquehoning, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, proposes to enact the following Ordinance at a meeting of such Council to be duly called and duly held not less than seven (7) days nor more than sixty(60) days after the publication of this Notice. AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NESQUEHONING, CARBON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE BOROUGH OF NESQUEHONING, SPECIFICALLY CHAPTER 5 "CODE ENFORCEMENT", SECTION 5-401, ET.SEQ., AND KNOWN AS THE "NFPA LIFE SAFETY CODE" AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ANY ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH The Borough Council of Nesquehoning proposes to adopt an Ordinance updating and adopting a newer version of sections 75 and 76 of the NFPA Life Safety Code specifically the 2024 edition. INVITATION TO BID Sealed Proposals for the Jacksonville Park Upgrades – Basketball & Pickleball Courts Project will be received online via the PennBid Program by East Allen Township, Northampton County until 1:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, April 16, 2026. At that time, proposals will be publicly opened via PennBid at the Township Engineer's Office, Hanover Engineering Associates, Inc., 252 Brodhead Road, Suite 100, Bethlehem, PA 18017-8944. Final questions are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026. Project consists of construction of a basketball court, pickleball court, associated fencing and walkway for the courts, a pedestrian trail and other associated site improvements at Jacksonville Park, an existing park owned and maintained by the Township. All Work for this project is located at Jacksonville Park in East Allen Township, Northampton County, PA.
