BOROUGH OF TAMAQUA POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE TESTING Notice is hereby given that the Borough of Tamaqua Police Civil Service Commission will be conducting a Civil Service Examination for the position(s) of full-time Police Officer. All applicants for the examination must submit a completed application form. Application forms are available at the Tamaqua Borough Hall located at 320 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Application forms must be returned to the Borough Manager's office no later than Friday, May 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A $35.00 fee will be charged for each application submitted and must be paid at the time of submission. Checks must be payable to the "Borough of Tamaqua". Applicants for testing must be a U.S. citizen, must have completed Act 120 training, be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or a GED, and must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. Applicants will also undergo a physical fitness test, a written exam, an interview before a review board, a credit check, a character and background investigation, a medical examination, and a psychological examination. Physical fitness testing will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Tamaqua Sports Stadium, Spruce and Lehigh streets, Tamaqua, followed by a written test at 5:00 p.m. at Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Oral interviews for those who pass the physical and written tests will be conducted on Monday, June 1, 2026, at times to be determined, at Tamaqua Borough Hall.
