NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Zoning Hearing Board of the Borough of North Catasauqua, PA will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM in Borough Hall located at 1066 Fourth Street, North Catasauqua, PA 18032. The subject of the hearing will be: APPEAL No. 2026-03. The Applicant, Roman Catholic Diocese of Allentown, will appear before the Borough of North Catasauqua Zoning Hearing Board to appeal the denial of a zoning permit for a property located at 1001 - 1003 2nd Street, containing a cemetery and two structures. The Diocese seeks to create a two-lot subdivision to separate the cemetery from the portion of the property containing the structures. The property lies in the R3 – Multi-Family Residential Zoning District. The Applicant is seeking the following variance relief: • Zoning Ordinance § 403.2, relating to minimum side yard requirements. 10 feet is required. Proposed side yard is 1.19 feet. A variance of 8.81 feet is sought. • Zoning Ordinance § 403.2, relating to maximum building coverage. 45% is permitted. The proposed building coverage of Lot 2 is 48.7%. A variance of 3.57% is sought. • Zoning Ordinance § 502, E-1 relating to use regulations (cemetery) requires a minimum lot size of 2 acres. The proposed lot size is 0.3337. A variance of 1.6663 acres is sought. The Applicant and/or their representatives shall attend said hearing and present testimony regarding this matter.
