Notice is hereby given that the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners will consider for possible adoption an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP CODE, CHAPTER 21, "STREETS AND SIDEWALKS," PART 1, "STREET OR ROAD CUTS OR EXCAVATIONS," REPEALING AND RESTATING SAID PART IN ITS ENTIRETY TO UPDATE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMITTING, FEES, INDEMNIFICATION, NOTICE, CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS, INSPECTIONS, MAINTENANCE, AND SECURITY FOR UTILITY WORK PERFORMED WITHIN A TOWNSHIP ROAD OR RIGHT-OF-WAY." The proposed ordinance amends the requirements for obtaining and complying with road opening permits under Township Code Chapter 21, as set forth in the aforementioned title. The Board of Commissioners will consider the foregoing ordinance at a public meeting on June 4, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Building, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie, Pa. Copies of the full text of this ordinance are available to any interested party for inspection and/or copying at the Township Municipal Building, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie, Pa., or for inspection during normal business hours at the offices of this newspaper, East Penn Press, 1633 N. 26th Street, Allentown, Pa. 18104 and the Lehigh County Department of Law, Room 440, 17 S. 7th Street, Allentown, Pa. 18101. All interested parties are invited to attend this public meeting. The Township Municipal Building is accessible to the physically handicapped. Any person that requires special assistance to understand the nature of the business conducted at the above meeting because of visual, hearing, or other impairment is requested to contact Renea Flexer, Township Secretary, at least five days prior to the scheduled hearing to arrange for the necessary assistance.
