All materials and workmanship must meet PENNDOT Publication 408 Specifications and Standards.
For the "2026 Road Improvements" project the Bidders need to be PENNDOT prequalified.
PA Prevailing Wages apply to this project.
Proposals must be on forms provided by the Township. Proposals should be marked "2026 Bituminous Paving" Bid Proposal. Proposal forms, specifications and bid information can be obtained at the Lower Towamensing Township Municipal Building at the above address or by calling RoniSue Ahner, Secretary at 610-826-2522, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A Pre-Bid meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday May 21, 2026, at the Municipal Office
located at 595 Hahns Dairy Road, Palmerton, PA 18071 all interested bidders should attend. This is not a
mandatory meeting however, this is the only field view to be conducted by the Municipality and only
questions presented at this meeting will be addressed prior to award unless the Municipality feels additional
items or explanations need to be presented. After the pre-bid meeting these will be in the form of a written
notice to all bidders. For further information contact Robbie Cressley at 570-249-7747 between the hours of
8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid made payable to Lower Towamensing Township.
The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract amount within 20 days of the award of the contract.
All bids will be opened and read publicly on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at approximately 12:00 noon and presented to the Lower Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows.
The Lower Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or portions thereof, and to delete projects and or portions of the project depending on budgetary constraints and also to waive any technicalities deemed to be in the best interested of the Township.
