Zoning Hearing #2026-10
The Washington Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Washington Township Municipal Building, located at 7951 Center Street, Emerald, PA 18080, to hear the following request:
Jason Deiter, for property located at 7750 County Bridge Road, is requesting variances to Sections 336, 411.2 & 411.4 of the Washington Township zoning ordinance to construct an additional accessory structure that would be placed outside the rear yard and in the required front yard & exceed the total allowable square footage of combined accessory structures on a property located in the Rural (R) zoning district.
The Zoning Hearing Board will take testimony, deliberate, and may vote on this request at this hearing. A full copy of this application is on file at the Township Office and is available for viewing during normal business hours.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Hanover Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, will consider for adoption at a public hearing to be held at 7:00 P.M. on the 23rd day of June, 2026 at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, an Ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances by defining and adding specific requirements for Data Centers and Data Center Accessory Uses. Copies of the full proposed text of the Ordinance summarized below may be examined by any citizen of the Township of Hanover at the Office of the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Hanover, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, at 3630 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, during normal business hours.
The following is a brief summary of the Ordinance in reasonable detail:
HANOVER TOWNSHIP
NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE HANOVER TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES BY DEFINING AND ADDING SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DATA CENTERS AND DATA CENTER ACCESSORY USES.
WHEREAS, Article VI of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. § 10601, et seq., authorizes Hanover Township to enact, amend and repeal Zoning Ordinances within the Township of Hanover; and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it to be in the best interest and general welfare of the residents of Hanover Township to update and amend provisions of the Hanover Township's Zoning Ordinance to provide for Data Centers and Data Center Accessory Uses; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Hanover Township desires to add provisions to the Zoning Ordinance relating to Data Centers and Data Center Accessory Uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED, by the Board of Hanover Township as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 185, Article II, Section 180-12. is amended to add Definitions for Data Center and Data center Accessory Use.
Section 2. Chapter 185, Article VIII, Section 185-35 Regulations applicable to PIBD Planned Industrial/Business District is amended to add new Section 185-35 D. (29).
Section 3. Chapter 185, Article VIII, Section 185-38, applicable to AFHBD Aircraft Flightpath Highway Business District is amended to revise Section 185-38 D. (11) (e).
Section 4. Chapter 185, Article XIV, Section 185-54 Conditional Uses is amended to add Section 185-54 E. (37).
Section 5. Severability. If any sentence, clause, section, or part of this Ordinance or of the Zoning Ordinance is for any reason found to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, such unconstitutionality, illegality or invalidity shall not affect or impair any of the remaining provisions, sentences, clauses, sections, or parts hereof. It is hereby declared as the intent of the Board of Supervisors that this Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance would have been adopted had such unconstitutional, illegal or invalid sentence, clause, section or part thereof not been included herein.
Section 6. Repealer. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances conflicting with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as the same affects this Ordinance.
Section 7 Codification. Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, the Hanover Township Zoning Ordinance shall hereby be codified to incorporate the above-referenced amendments.
Section 8. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after its adoption.
