POLICE OFFICER
The Lehighton Borough Civil Service Commission is conducting an entry level examination for the position of Police Officer. All testing will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026. The physical agility testing will be at Baer Memorial Park at 9:00a.m. The written and oral examination will be at the Lehighton Borough Hall, 1 Constitution Avenue, Lehighton, PA at 11a.m.
NO COST to apply! Completed applications must be submitted to the Borough Secretary office by Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 4:00pm. Applications are available at the Lehighton Borough Hall, 1 Constitution Avenue or the Lehighton Borough Police Department.
The Borough of Lehighton is located in Carbon County, Pennsylvania and has a population of 5,300. The top base salary for 2026 is $86,794.85. Entry level starting salary is contingent on prior experience. Lehighton Police Department has a competitive employee benefits package, longevity bonuses, and newly added $5,000 sign on bonus. Testing and hiring will be pursuant to the Borough of Lehighton Civil Services Rules and Regulations. Applications and testing do not a guarantee the Lehighton Police Department will be hiring in 2026.
Applicants for testing must be: a U.S. citizen; be age 21 on or before date of written test; possess a high school diploma or GED; and a valid Pennsylvania license. Veterans must submit DD-214 to qualify for hiring benefits. Act 120 certificate of training is preferred.
