ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Borough of Catasauqua ("Owner") will receive sealed bids electronically via the PennBid Program for the complete design, inspection and construction improvements for an existing 60' diameter wastewater clarifier drive unit and appurtenances at the Borough's Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 18 West Race Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. The work shall include engineering design, inspection of existing equipment, and installation of the drive unit and appurtenances. Bids will be received online via PennBid until 11:00 a.m. (prevailing time) on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Bid results will be made available on PennBid after bid opening/review by Owner. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the site (18 West Race Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032). A site inspection of the existing clarifier will follow the pre-bid meeting. Copies of the Specifications/Bid Forms are available, at no cost, on PennBid (https://PennBid.bonfirehub.com). LEHIGHTON WATER AUTHORITY RATE INCREASE Lehighton Water Authority (LWA) residents and businesses will experience a 15% rate increase beginning with their February 2026 invoices. The LWA's last rate increase was in 2019. By comparison, the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from July 2019 to the end of 2026 is 28%. This rate increase is necessary due to increasing operating costs including supplies, services, keeping current with PADEP regulations, maintaining licensed water filtration plant operators and continuing project upgrades to the filtration, transmission and distribution system.
