LEHIGHTON WATER AUTHORITY RATE INCREASE Lehighton Water Authority (LWA) residents and businesses will experience a 15% rate increase beginning with their February 2026 invoices. The LWA's last rate increase was in 2019. By comparison, the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from July 2019 to the end of 2026 is 28%. This rate increase is necessary due to increasing operating costs including supplies, services, keeping current with PADEP regulations, maintaining licensed water filtration plant operators and continuing project upgrades to the filtration, transmission and distribution system. The mission of the LWA Board, its office and maintenance staff continues to be to provide the highest quality water at the most reasonable cost to its customers. Dec 23
