Salisbury Township Public Notice The Salisbury Township Environmental Advisory Council will hold regular public meetings on the third Wednesday of every even numbered month. The following is a list of all regular meetings scheduled for 2026: February 18 April 15 June 17 August 19 October 21 December 16 Each meeting will start at 7PM and be held at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building, 2900 South Pike Avenue, Allentown PA 18103. The agenda for each meeting will be posted twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting in accordance with the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act on both the front door of the municipal building and on the Salisbury Township website. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE BETHLEHEM
TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD, AT 6:30PM ON
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2026 AT THE TOWNSHIP
MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 4225 EASTON AVENUE, BETHLEHEM,
PA 18020 WILL HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS, AMONG OTHER
ISSUES, CONCERNING THE FOLLOWING:
Appeal #01-2026 of Julie B. Fogt, G. Stephen Fogt and Teresa V. Fogt seeks relief concerning real estate located at 3399 Darien Road,
Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. The applicants are seeking to appeal the zoning officer's determination that the first 20 feet of driveway from Darien Road be no more than a 7% slope. The applicants contend that the driveway is a "private driveway serving one dwelling unit," and as such the maximum grade for the driveway is 12% according to Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-144.D(2)(a). The zoning officer has determined that Section §275-144.D(2)(c) of the Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance is applicable and that "any stricter requirements that may be in Chapter 230, Subdivision and Land Development, shall apply". Therefore the requirements of Section §230-65.D of Bethlehem Township's Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance apply, specifically that
"Grades of access drives and driveways shall not exceed 12% when connecting to a local or collector street and 7% when connecting onto an arterial street; however, the initial 20 feet from the edge of the cartways of an arterial street shall not exceed 4% and the initial 20 feet from the edge of the cartways of any other street shall not exceed 7%."
In the alternative, the applicants are requesting a dimensional variance from the Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance which incorporates Section §230-65.D of the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance. The applicants request a variance allowing an 11% grade for the first 20 feet of driveway from the Darien Road cartway, and therefore seek a variance of 4% grade. The real estate is located in the Low-Density Residential (LDR) Zoning District, maintains Northampton County Tax Parcel Identification Number M7NW2 3 16 0205 and is described in Northampton County Deed Book Volume 2024-1, Page 149744.
Appeal #02-2026 of Dunne Manning Investments LP seeks relief
concerning real estate located at 3908-3918 Chipman Road, Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. The applicant is seeking a special exception use in order to operate a boardinghouse within the existing building at the subject property. Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-112 identifies uses that are permitted by special exception in the Agriculture (AG) Zoning District in which the subject property is located. A boardinghouse is a use that is permitted by special exception within the Agriculture Zoning District. In accordance with Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-21.C(1), adequate evidence must be presented to the Zoning Hearing Board that any proposed use will meet all standards listed in Section §275-20.D, all use specific standards listed in Article XX and all other applicable requirements of this chapter in order for the Zoning Hearing Board to approve the use. In addition to the special exception use of the property, the applicant is requesting a variance from the maximum number of residents permitted by Section §275-189.A(11)(h) of the Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance, which permits a maximum of 20 residents for a boardinghouse use. The applicant is requesting a maximum of 30 residents for a boardinghouse use, thereby seeking a variance of 10 residents. The real estate is located in the Agriculture (AG) Zoning District, maintains Northampton County Tax Parcel Identification Number L8 22 1 0205E and is described in Northampton County Deed Book Volume 133, Page 000023.
Appeal #03-2026 of William Claypool seeks relief concerning real estate located at 3326 Lewis Avenue, Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. The relief requested is a dimensional variance for a newly erected single-family dwelling which was erroneously constructed within the required side and rear yard setbacks. The first dimensional variance requested by the applicant is from the requirements of Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-49.F(1), which requires a principal structure to have a side yard setback of 10 feet for each required side yard and 25 feet total when two side yards are required. The applicant requests a side yard setback of 7.77 feet, thereby seeking a variance of 2.23 feet. The final dimensional variance requested by the applicant is from Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-49.G(1) which requires a principal structure to have a rear yard setback of 35 feet. The applicant requests a rear yard setback of 27 feet, thereby seeking a variance of 8 feet. The real estate is located in the Medium-Density Residential (MDR) Zoning District, maintains Northampton County Tax Parcel Identification Number M7SW2 8 2 0205 and is described in Northampton County Deed Book Volume 2024-1, Page 176321.
Appeal #04-2026 of Dewberry Engineering Inc on behalf of Walmart and Bethlehem Retail Investors, LLC seeks relief concerning real estate located at 3926 Nazareth Pike, Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. The relief requested is a variance from signage requirements in order to provide public service signage for Online Pickup and Delivery designated parking areas associated with the Walmart Supercenter. The applicant is seeking a variance from the requirements of Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section §275-157.F which requires public service signs to not exceed two square feet in size and be limited to a maximum of two per lot. The applicant requests 27 public service signs be permitted with 14 of such signs being larger than 2 square feet in size, thereby seeking a variance of 25 additional public service signs and 14 signs larger than the permitted 2 square feet. The real estate is located in the Planned Commercial (PC) Zoning District and Commercial Enhancement Overlay District, maintains Northampton County Tax Parcel Identification Number M7 9 1 0205 and is described in Northampton County Deed Book Volume 2019-1, Page 001751.
