All meetings are held at the Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie PA 18062 on the last Thursday of every month at 5:15pm. November and December meetings are combined on the first Thursday in December. The building is accessible to the physically handicapped. Mar 18-19

NOTICE
Be notified that the Rush Township Board of Supervisors is considering the adoption of two ordinances. One ordinance would require cost reimbursement to certain emergency responders for each false alarm responded to after the 2nd false alarm responded to in any consecutive 12-month period, provide means of appealing the classification of an alarm as a false alarm, provide for enforcement and penalties, and contain repealer, severability and effective date provisions. One ordinance would repeal and replace Ordinance No. 210 and regulate the nomination, approval and removal of special fire police, requiring candidates to be 18 years of age, have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license, provide child abuse clearances and criminal background checks, meet certain training requirements, and confirm the right in the Board of Supervisors to remove persons as special fire police officers at any time for any reason, and contain repealer, severability and effective date provisions. Copies of the proposed ordinances can be inspected at the Rush Township Municipal Building at 104 Mahanoy Avenue, Tamaqua, PA 18252, during normal working hours. The Board of Supervisors may vote on the proposed ordinances at a public meeting at the Municipal Building scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Palmerton Borough Zoning Hearing Board will hold a meeting at Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071 on March 31, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., prevailing time, regarding the continuance of an application by Takacs Real Estate, LLC. Applicant is requesting a variance, under Section 403.D.9.b2 of the Palmerton Borough Zoning Ordinance, to erect an accessory building on a vacant lot along Mauch Chunk Road (tax parcel #42A-49-K37) that does not contain a principle building, Section 306.B for use, Section 307.A for setbacks and Section 307.B.5 to exceed one and a half story height. The property is located in a CF (Commercial Fringe) zoning district. The Zoning Hearing Board will take testimony and may deliberate and vote on this request during the hearing.
