ZONING HEARING BOARD OF BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA APRIL 29, 2026 PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD, AT 6:30PM ON WEDNESDAY, ARPIL 29, 2026 AT THE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 4225 EASTON AVENUE, BETHLEHEM, PA 18020 WILL HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS, AMONG OTHER ISSUES, CONCERNING THE FOLLOWING: Appeal #08-2026 of Domingo A. Jimenez and Medilda E. Vargas seeks relief concerning real estate located at 4358 Rexford Drive, Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. The relief requested is a dimensional variance from Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section 275-190.D(5)(c) which requires an overhead structure, located on a deck or patio, to meet the setback criteria for a principal structure and from Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section 275-34.G(1) which requires a minimum 50-foot rear yard setback for principal buildings. The applicant requests a 15 foot rear yard setback to construct a pavilion on a patio, thereby seeking a variance of 35 feet. Appeal #09-2026 of Benjamin T. Flanagan seeks relief concerning real estate located at 2815 Jefferson Street, Bethlehem Township,Northampton County. The relief requested is a dimensional variance from Bethlehem Township Zoning Ordinance Section 275-144.D(2)(c) which requires access drives and driveways to be graded in accordance with any stricter requirements that may be in Bethlehem Township's Subdivision and Land Development, Chapter 230. Per Section 230-65.D of the Bethlehem Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, "Grades of access drives or driveways shall not exceed 12% when connecting to a local or collector street and 7% when connecting onto an arterial street; however, the initial 20 feet from the edge of the cartways of an arterial street shall not exceed 4% and the initial 20 feet from the edge of cartways of any other street shall not exceed 7%." The applicant requests a driveway grade of 11.1% for the initial 20 feet of driveway from the edge of cartway, thereby seeking a variance of 4.1%. The real estate is located in the Medium-Density Residential (MDR) District, maintains Northampton County Tax Parcel Identification Number N7NW3 15 14 0205 and is described in Northampton County Deed Book Volume 2024-1, Page 163187.
