NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Palmerton Borough Council will hold a Public Hearing on a proposed map and text change to the Palmerton Zoning Ordinance on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania. The hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m., prevailing time. Upon completion of the hearing, the Palmerton Borough Council will consider adoption and enactment of proposed Ordinance 790, a summary of which appears below: An ordinance of the Palmerton Borough council, Pennsylvania, to amend the Palmerton Borough zoning ordinance to define and add specific requirements for data centers and data center accessory uses. Article 2, Definitions, Section 202, Definition of Terms, to be amended to add definitions. Article 3, Establishment of Zoning Districts, Section 306.B, Table of Permitted Uses by District, to be amended to include data centers and data center accessory uses in the industrial district as a conditional use. Article 4, Additional Requirements for Specific Special Exceptions and Other Uses, Section 402.A to be amended to add regulations for dimensional standards, landscape buffering, fencing, equipment screening, noise and vibration, water usage from various sources, sewer, power supply, emergency management, aesthetics, parking, decommissioning, utility lines, environmental impact statement, outdoor lighting, construction hours, and public inquiries/complaints for data center and data center accessory uses. The amendment is authorized under MPC Article VI, section 601 and adds uses not previously identified or regulated under the ordinance. The change will affect all industrial properties in Palmerton Borough and is consistent with the comprehensive plans. Section 3 D.1.a and Section 3 G.1.a of the draft ordinance have been amended to change the wording "special exception" to "conditional use" to address a clerical error and ensure consistency.
