NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Borough Council of the Borough of Walnutport will hold a public meeting on the 9th day of July, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Walnutport Borough Municipal Building located at 417 Lincoln Avenue, Walnutport, Pa 18088 for the purpose of enacting the following Ordinance which is summarized below. Copies of the complete text of the Ordinance are available at the Walnutport Borough Municipal Building and the Times-News and may be examined during regular business hours. BOROUGH OF WALNUTPORT NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ORDINANCE NO.: 2026-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF WALNUTPORT, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA, ESTABLISHING THAT THE BOROUGH'S PUBLIC PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, RECREATION AREAS AND MUNICIPAL FACILITIES SHALL BE PLACARD WITH THE RULES REGARDING PUBLIC PARK USAGE. WHEREAS, the Borough of Walnutport is empowered to establish and regulate the rules and regulations regarding that its municipal parks, playgrounds, recreation areas and public facilities are open to the public; and WHEREAS, The Borough of Walnutport believes it is in the public's health, safety and welfare to establish a set time when its public places are closed to the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE BOROUGH OF WALNUTPORT AND IT IS ENACTED AND ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Chapter 300 entitled, "Parks and Recreation Areas" shall be amended by adding the underlined language and deleting the crossed-out language. §300-11. Use of Borough-owned property. It shall be unlawful for any member of the public to be in or remain upon Borough-owned property, park and/or recreational areas, including any existing facilities on those properties, including but not limited to Memorial Park, Walnutport Canal Park or Walnutport Borough Park between dusk and dawn, unless an organized event has been approved by Council. Dogs, motorized scooters, motorized bicycles, rollerblades and skateboards are prohibited at all times. Section 2. Severability. The provisions of this ordinance are severable; and any part hereof shall be held to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by any Court, such decision shall not affect or impair any of the remaining provisions of this ordinance.
